East Asian Cultural City
The East Asian Cultural Cities Project was initiated following the 5th Korea-China-Japan Trilateral Summit in 2012, which concluded in the signing of an agreement that sought to promote political trust, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding and cooperation.
Since 2014, the three parties have selected one city from each nation as an “East Asian Cultural City” to host various cultural exchange events throughout the year. The selected cities actively engage in each other’s cultural events and even plan and hold joint events. Such efforts contribute to the strengthening of international exchange and the development of regional culture and tourism.
